God Made a Promise

  "For when  God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He swear by Himself. Saying, surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee...For men swear by the greater and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation..." Hebrews 6:13-14 & 16-18 My dad used to tell me about a time when men would make agreements based on verbal promises and  handshakes. He would tell me how those handshakes were just as solid and binding as a signed contract. A man with reputation would NEVER think about breaking his word. All I can say is - "Wow!" Fervent in the Spirit!

Not Even Possible!” By Priscilla Shirer – Fervent – Chapter 1   Not long ago I purchased a book by the author (Priscilla Shirer) of “War Room” – the title is “Fervent.”   The author writes with such passion about being fervent in spirt – then she mentions how God pursued a relationship with man relentlessly and with fervency.   Fervent – what exactly does it mean?   There are several meanings – all lead to the same outcome – passion, boiling, glowing hot, might and power, etc.   In Romans 12:9-13, it says, “ Let  love  be  without hypocrisy.
